Benue Saves N1.2bn From Ghost Workers

 

Ghost workers: We’ve saved N1.2b after cleaning payroll – Gov Alia

The governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has revealed that a staff verification exercise on civil servants has saved the Government N1.2 billion.

The governor said that fraudulent activities were removed from the state’s payroll, reducing the amount to N800 million from N1.6 billion.

  1. He also announced that teachers whose salaries were withheld due to the audit are now receiving alerts about their pay.
