A former minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Sylva has been declared winner of the Bayelsa State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election.
According to the result declared by Major Gen. AD Jubrin, Sylva, a former governor of the state, scored 52,061 votes to beat other contenders.
David Lyon, the governor-elect in 2019, came third.
Lyon polled 1,582 votes behind Great Joshua MacIver, who garnered 2,078 votes.
