CBN gives update on Naira scarcity
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in response to allegations of banknote shortages, has stated that there are enough Naira notes in circulation.
In a statement issued by the Corporate Communications Department of the CBN, the apex bank explained the reasons behind the scarcity of Naira notes in some parts of the country.
The CBN’s response coincides with several grievances raised by certain bank clients regarding the lack of Naira notes at bureaux de change (BDCs), ATMs, points of sale (PoS), and bank counters.
