CSOs Urge Osun Govt To Address State of Insecurity

A coalition of civil societies known as the Osun Masterminds has call on Osun state government to address rising spate of insecurity in the state and to desist from any of a projects that may plunge the state into financial disorder.

The group had few months ago raised alarm on insecurity and incessant political attacks which it said is causing residents to live in fear in some parts of the state.

Addressing journalists during its April edition of state-of-the-state address held in Osogbo, the state, Executive Director, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli lamented robbery incident that took place at Africa bridge in the capital city, Osogbo on Monday night.

Prof. Oyedokun-Alli said the sad reality of the robbery attack on a busy route that many people ply daily as well as recent kidnappings and other forms of insecurity indicate that nothing concrete has been done to arrest worsening situation of insecurity in the state.

The group however commended governor Adeleke on some healthcare initiatives, ongoing road projects and domestication of start-up Act in the state but equally appealed to him to re-absorb disengaged 1,500 teachers recruited by the Oyetola’s administration.
