The Festival of Ram sacrifice is here again and buyers trooping into markets in the Federal Capital Territory.
While some traders are smiling to the bank, some buyers are lamenting the hike in prices of foodstuff.
Also in the capital city of River state, activities have peaked ahead of the long weekend celebration but traders at some major markets in Port Harcourt say the patronage for rams and other food stuff is low.
The story isn’t different in the Oyo state capital as the general hustle and bustle which normally characterize preparation for Ramadan, Ibadan witnessed a low key activity .
Respondents who spoke with Silverbird News 24 reported that the uninspiring socio-economic climate in the country limited what households could do to prepare for the Sallah festival.
Although some were seen at the slaughter slabs doing group purchase of cow to prepare for the festival, others resolved to celebrate in a low key.
