Former President Goodluck Jonathan was at State House Abuja on Thursday where he met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors.
The former President did not engage with the media as to the purpose of his visit.
However his visit may not be unconnected with his being nominated by the African Union (AU) to lead its Election Observation Mission to Mozambique’s general elections scheduled for the 15th of October.
Dr. Jonathan is billed to leave the country on Friday for Maputo, capital of Mozambique, where he will oversee the deployment of the mission’s forty-member team of observers to different parts of the country.
It is customary for former Presidents to brief the President when they travel out of the country.
