GAS Flaring: Reps To Recover Over $9bn Fines From Oil Companies

The speaker House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas says Gas flaring poses great threat to human lives, as well as environmental degradation if not urgently addressed.

He stated this in his opening remarks at an investigative hearing by the Adhoc committee on Gas flaring in Nigeria from 2013-2023.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas who was represented by chief whip Rep. Usman Kumo maintained that the unique hearing seeks to brainstorm with relevant stakeholders on measures needed to address the issue of gas flaring in the Country.
