Atalanta star Ademola Lookman has been named Africa’s Best International Footballer at the Ghana Football Awards.
Lookman beat his compatriot Victor Osimhen and Burkina Faso defender Edmund Tapsoba to the award.
The 26-year-old starred for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former RB Leipzig player scored thrice in seven matches for the Super Eagles in Cote d’Ivoire.
Lookman also had a memorable campaign for Atalanta domestically and in Europe.
The pacy winger caught the eye, netting a hat-trick in La Dea’s UEFA Europa League final victory over Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
The player registered 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side last season.
He also won Atalanta’s Player of the Season award for the second consecutive campaign.
