Head coach of Lobi Stars Football Club, Solomon Ogbeide has been confirmed dead.
Ogbeide slumped and died at King Cross hospital in Makurdi on Monday, May 20, 2019 few hours to Lobi Stars home match with Wikki Tourists.
Despite the shocking incident, Lobi Stars went on to beat Wikki Tourists 2-1 to brighten their chances of picking a playoff ticket from group A.
The veteran coach had complained of general body weakness and dizziness before he was rushed to the hospital where it was reported he died of low blood pressure.
Reacting to the incident which has thrown the Nigerian football fraternity into mourning, the team manager of Lobi Stars, Barnabas Imenger said the death of Ogbeide is a huge loss to the club and Nigerian football in general.
With two matches left to play in the NPFL season, Lobi Stars are poised to clinch a super-six ticket from their group.
Only Rangers have been guaranteed a place in the super-six playoffs with other teams jostling to make the final cut.
