LP Crisis: Two Factions Storm Party Secretariat, Wield Dangerous Weapons

LP CRISIS: TWO FACTIONS Wield DANGEROUS WEAPONS TO TAKE OVER SECRETARIAT

The crisis rocking the Lanour Party (LP) may be heading for dangerous dimension.

The Organised Labour backed Transition Committee members on Tuesday barricaded the National Headquarters of the party in an attempt to force the embattled factional Chairman, Julius Abure to step down

The Fracas took place while the LP Presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi was holding meeting with the factional Chairman and his loyalists

The attempted forceful take over of the party’s secretariat was however rebuffed by loyalists of Abure who deployed both petrol bombs, stones and other dangerous weapons to resist entrance of the Transition Committee members

The development attracted the intervention of operatives of the Nigeria Police, using tear gas to disperse the waring factions.
