Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde says the insecurity rocking the zone will be addressed by adopting a regional security approach.
Makinde described kidnapping and herdsmen attack of farmers and farmlands as two major security problems which must be solved.
According to him, the southwest is in support of community policing to enhance security of lives and properties.
Makinde lamented the constitutional limitations of the governors in exhibiting the power as the Chief Security Officers of the state.
He urged traditional rulers to convoke security stakeholders meeting in their communities.
He said the zone has a lot to gain by ensuring a safe zone in order to guarantee peace, development and attract investors.
