The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards Set To Recognise Broadcasters

The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) will be having the President, Silverbird Group, Guy Murray-Bruce and Managing Director/CEO, Strategic Outcomes Limited, Communications Consultants to TNBA and former Editor of The News Magazine, Jenkins Alumuna on radio 8:30am and on News Hub 9am tomorrow, Friday 12, 2022 to discuss about Nigeria Broadcast Awards, powered by BON.

The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards, TNBA, seeks to recognise and celebrate broadcasters like professionals in many other industries and sectors.

TNBA is the brainchild of Mr. John Ugbe, Chairman, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) who, as part of his campaign promises, stated the need for the recognition of broadcast professionals

TNBA is aimed elevating broadcasting standards by motivating broadcasters to strive harder and excel more.

TNBA, first of its kind in the history of Nigerian broadcasting, is conceived as the gold standard in Nigerian broadcasting and will be held annually

The inaugural edition, which will be a hugely glamorous event, is billed for early November in Abuja, and is open to current professionals working in both BON member stations and those working with stations that are not members of BON

TNBA will also recognise retired broadcasters, who distinguished themselves in their active days and those, who have made significant contributions towards raising professional standards.

Best Radio Station/ Television Station of the Year

Best Radio Station/ Best Television (News in English}

Best Radio Station/ Television Station (Indigenous Language)

Best Radio/ Television Station (Original Production in English)

Best Radio / Television Station (Original Production in Indigenous Language)

Best Radio/Television Station (Documentary/ Feature in English)

Best Radio/ Best Television Station -Documentary/ Feature in Indigenous Language

Best Radio/ Television Show (English)

Best Radio/ Television Show (Indigenous Language)

Newscaster of the Year- Radio/ Television

Reporter of the Year -Radio/Television

Presenter of the Year – Radio/Television

Special Contributions to the Broadcast Industry.


TNBA is managed by a steering committee of BON under the chairmanship of Mr, Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group

The Steering Committee has as members some of the most stellar industry names


In the coming months, there will be call for entries as well as formats

Broadcasting professionals need to take advantage of the opportunity

Assessment of entries will be conducted by a panel, soon to be announced, and will consist of some of the biggest industry names-past and present.

TNBA is a strictly professional awards process and will be judged only by the best available.


TNBA is not strictly about broadcasting, but about national development to which broadcasters contribute and for which they deserve recognition to motivate them to further excel

As such, the support of corporate organisations and individuals, in cash and kind, is required because well-educated and informed citizenry is the nation’s biggest asset
