The Chairman, Niger Delta Development Commission’s House of Representatives probe committee, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has stepped aside as the investigation continued early this morning. Deputy chairman of the Committee Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi is currently Chairing the investigative hearing, He is from Niger Delta.
Olubunmi Tunji Ojo said his decision to step aside was to ensure justice is done. Recall that the Acting Managing Director of the NDDC had said he wont get justice from the committee following corruption allegations against the Chairman.
All the stakeholders involved in the management and crisis that has engulfed the NIGER DELTA commission, NDDC are now on ground at the probe panel by the house of representatives to unravel THE SCANDAL ROCKING THE commission
The Acting Managing Director of NDDC, Daniel Pondei arrived the hearing room early before the lawmakers. Also the Minister of Niger Delta Affair Godswill Akpabio had arrived.
The House had summoned senator Akpabio to appear before the lawmakers to give details as to how monies meant to develop the region was misappropriated. Meanwhile there is heavy presence of security personnel at the venue.
