The Chairman, Governing Council of the University of Lagos, Wale Babalakin has finally spoken on the allegations levied against the sacked Vice Chancellor,  Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

He accused Professor Ogundipe of expending N49 million  on renovation of his official residence, adding that he was also paying security votes to the Dean of Students Affairs.

While briefing journalists in Lagos on Friday, Babalakin said the Senate meeting summoned by the sacked VC was not recognised according to the law, asking the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU to seek legal process in its action.

He said the ministry of education is in tune with the council’s law of who hires can fire according to due process.
