The fate of the five candidates who are still running for the post of the Director General for the World Trade Organization will be determined today, Tuesday.
This phase of consultation began on the 24th of September and ended on 6th of October, a process where members of the WTO had voted in confidentiality two outstanding candidates that will proceed for elections.
As the world awaits the announcement of two candidates that will scale to the final phase, Nigerians are optimistic over the victory of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Also on Monday Bloomberg had reported that the European Union (EU) governments in Brussels agreed to endorse Okonjo-Iweala to lead the World Trade Organization.
The EU also selected South Korean, Yoo Myung-hee as the second contender for the job even as the race enters its final month.
