Many residents in Bayelsa state have fled their homes following the ravaging flood which has also destroyed farm produce and property worth millions of naira.
Among the heavily hit community is Adagbabiri Community which shares boundary between Delta and Bayelsa states.
Bayelsa state is the most Deltaic and Riverine among all the states in the Niger Delta and as such suffers most flood devastation every year.
The flood this year is coming massively but nobody knows how devastating it could be after the one of 2012 which recked havoc in the state including the capital Yenagoa.
For the People of Adagbabiri Community in Sagbama local government area they say this year’s flood has exceeded the 2018 flood, and may likely get close to that of 2012.
Some of the victims, including the oldest man in the Community, referred to as Amakosowei of Adagbabriri Community, Elder Fresh Esuku, the Community Development Committee Chairman, Mr. Preye Awolowo and others called on the State and Federal Governments to provide relief materials for them; as flood continues to ravage the Community.
