COVID-19: Imo govt shuts down state secretariat

Governor Hope Uzodimma of IMO state has ordered the complete shutdown of the state Secretariat over the fear of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor also ordered the civil servants in the state to remain at home effect from Monday the 21st of December 2020.

He maintain that the state government is duty bound to ensure that residents lives are safe from the deadly virus and as such will take no chances.

Speaking further the governor admonished residents in the state to adhere strictly to the lay down protocol for prevention of COVID-19 pandemic even as they go about the Christmas celebration peacefully.

He equally emphasized that stringent measures have been put in place to prosecute anyone found not obeying the covid-19 protocols in the state.
