Aguleri and Umueri crisis: traditional rulers seek end to communal clashes

The traditional rulers of Aguleri and Umueri both in Anambra east local government area in Anambra state, has called all the indigenes of both communities to embrace peace for the progress of both communities .

The cause is due to an alleged trespassing of  Umueri land by by Aguleri family.  the clash began when a foundation built by the family was destroyed by the Umueris.

The Traditional leaders of Umueri and Aguleri couldn’t contain their displeasure, they expressed disappointment at the continuous reoccurrence of the communal clashes which has limited the growth of the two communities over the years .

They called on the youths to sheath their swords for peace so as to usher in development in the community.

They feared that the crisis if not put to an end could hamper the operation of the International Cargo airport which is under construction in Umueri.
