Reactions has continued to trail the extension of the tenure of the current Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu by three months.

The 20th Indigenous Inspector, Mohammed Adamu appointed two years ago was expected to retire and vacate his office on the 1st of February, 2021 on attainment of the mandatory 35 years of service as police officer

While the nation was waiting on President Buhari to nominate an Acting Inspector General of Police, the Police Chief reported in the office in the past few days attending to official matters and other security issues

A Human Rights Lawyer, Maxwell Okpara who spoke with Silverbird News 24 in Abuja described the extension of Mohammed Adamu’s Tenure as another illegality that will not survive the test of the law
