COVID-19: Ogun government receives 50,000 doses of vaccines

Ogun State Government has received COVID-19 vaccines allocated to the State by the federal government.

The governor, Mr. Dapo Abiodun received the first tranche of 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta from officials of World Health Organization, WHO and federal ministry of health officials.

Abiodun while speaking shortly after receiving the vaccines, said the state is the first state in the country to receive the vaccines.

The Governor attributed the level of preparedness of the State in combating the virus, was responsible for the early allocation of the vaccines to the State.

The Governor, however, disclosed that vaccination would commenced in the State after all NCDC Guidelines have been fulfilled, saying the vaccines would be available at the state hospitals and primary health care centres.

He allayed the fears of the people about the vaccines, saying that research by scientists have revealed that the vaccines are safe.
