The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Delta State Chapter joined their counterparts across the country to stage a peaceful protest in Asaba, the state capital over the proposed amendments to the minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

The protest is coming on the hills of attempt by some lawmakers at the National Assembly to remove the Minimum Wage from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent Legislative List which the NLC is against.

The NLC Chairman, Goodluck Ofobruku led members of the organised labour through major roads in Asaba, bearing placards with different inscriptions before anchoring at the Delta State House of Assembly to present their demands before the state Parliament.

The Clerk of the House Lyna Ocholor who addressed the Union on behalf of the Speaker, assured them of favourable legislation once the bill is forwarded to the house for ratification.
