The Silverbird Group, organizers of the annual Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN), and national franchise holders for the globally recognized Miss World and Miss Universe pageants; wishes to inform the general public that it will not be sending a delegate to the Miss Universe pageant holding on May 16, 2021 in Florida, USA.
This was contained in a statement signed by President, Silverbird Group and National Director, Miss World/ Miss Universe, Mr. Guy Murray Bruce on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the situation arises from last year’s unfortunate suspension of what would have been the 33rd edition of MBGN in 2020.
It said, “Due to its desire to protect the well-being of its contestants, the Silverbird Group had chosen to cancel last year’s edition of the highly anticipated pageant, in light of health and safety concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, no Nigerian representative to the international pageants were selected.
“While the Group regrets this unfortunate situation, it is pleased to announce that it will send a Nigerian representative to the 2021 Miss Universe pageant holding later this year in December. The representative for this event will be selected at the upcoming 2021 Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria pageant which holds on September 18th in Lagos
The Silverbird Group thanks the general public for its concerned inquiries and continued support,” the statement read.
