“Following backlash from parents of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, the Presidency has reassured parents and other stakeholders that the yet to be released students remain constantly on the minds of government.

A statement by a presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu described the rescue mission as a work in progress, I quote, “No one is giving up hope here. Efforts to secure their release through various channels and activities of the security and intelligence agencies remain on course.”

The statement acknowledges the efforts of the military to discharge their mandate to finish off the insurgency war and free all citizens held hostage, and therefore calls for support, understanding and prayers from all Nigerians.
