Police deny abduction of 18 persons in Ibarapa

The Oyo State Police Command has debunked the report of 18 passengers kidnapped in Ibarapa.

It was reported at least 18 commuters have been reportedly kidnapped in Igbo-Ora area of Ibarapa, Oyo State.

Two gang of kidnapping syndicates consisting of four armed were on Thursday paraded at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters Eleyele Ibadan for their allegedly involvement in kidnapping cases.

The two gang consisting a man and three armed men were paraded alongside 33 other suspects that were paraded for crimes cyber crime and SIM card fraudulent activities, sodomizing, among others.

The arrest of an armed Robbery syndicate which specializes in snatching exotic cars from unsuspected owners at gun point in Ibadan and neighbouring States were apprehended at Bodija Area of Ibadan.

An armed robbery, kidnapping syndicate responsible for strings of Robbery and kidnapping along Ayete, Igangan, Lanlate, Eruwa, Igboora, Tapa and environ have been apprehended. The trio confessed to be involved in the crime and their confessional statement is helping to immediately arrest other syndicate members still at large.
