Isaac Boro Day: Diri urges youths to emulate late hero

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has advised the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, and the Ijaw National Congress, INC, to emulate the legacies of their late hero, Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro.

Speaking at the 53rd Boro Day anniversary which held at the Ijaw Heroes Park in Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri explained that the late Boro stood for equity, justice and selflessness, and that if the IYC and INC join hands with the Bayelsa State Government, the Ijaw nation will be taken to a level where future generations will be proud of.

Also speaking, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Professor Benjamin Okaba stressed the need for the Izon nation to follow the footsteps of Isaac Boro, and expressed joy that the legacy of the late hero still lives.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Central Zone, Comrade Clever Inodu, highlighted the essence of the Boro Day celebration, and also stated that the IYC is committed to shutting down the Niger Delta region – upon the expiration of the ultimatum given to the Federal Government to constitute a substantive board of the NDDC
