The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed the Value Added Tax, VAT and the ANTI-OPEN GRAZING BILLS.
The two bills were passed after unanimous votes by the lawmakers at the sitting where the bills were read the third time at Thursday plenary.
Immediately after their passage, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa commended his colleagues for their passion to see that the state continues to grow WHILE DIRECTING THE HOUSE CLERK TO TRANSMIT THE BILLs TO THE STATE GOVERNOR FOR HIS ASSENT.
THE moves by the state government to enact the VALUE ADDED TAX AND ANTI-OPEN GRAZING LAWS HAD BEEN GENERATING REACTIONS FROM STAKEHOLDERS.
Recall that a Court had recently given judgment in Rivers State RESTRICTING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FROM COLLECTING VAT IN STATES ACCROSS THE FEDERATION.
