Traditional Rulers in Anambra State have cautioned politicians and their supporters against heating up the polity ahead of the November 6 Governorship election.

They stated this in a communique issued at the end of a meeting of the elders council in Awka, where they warned against the possibility of disrupting the peace in the state with the increasing use of the social media to attack personalities.

The council called on all stakeholders as well as the electoral authorities to work towards a free and fair election that will be transparent and reflect the the will of the people.

The group also called for the collaborative effort of the Southeast Governors, Traditional Rulers of Communities, Presidents General of Town Unions and other community leaders to end the stay-at- home orders by non-state actors.
