Senior Civil Servants in Ogun State are protesting alleged diversion of their investment fund to the tune of One Hundred and thirty four million naira with an old generation bank in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Coming out under the aegis of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, stormed the premises of the bank within Abeokuta metropolis in peaceful procession with placards inscribed with different inscriptions.
According to their leadership, trouble started when the association decided to move its investment fund from the bank to another commercial bank where they were offered a better deal.
Addressing members of the association, the State Chairman, Isa Olude said the Union gave cash transfer instruction but the bank only activated lesser amount of Eighty Million naira against agreement signed by the bank and the association.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach the bank authority proved abortive but an unauthorized source claimed that, Central Bank of Nigeria is aware and carrying out investigation already.
