The 2021 Miss World Pageant has been posponed due to COVID-19, Andrea Jackson said in a statement made available to the media partners Thursday night.
The statement read, “I am terribly sorry to have to give you notice that the Miss World event has been postponed for reasons to do with Covid-19.
I have just been informed of this by the organisers of the event, The Miss World Organisation. My understanding is that it would not be in adherence with quarantine guidelines should the event proceed, and so with profound regret this decision has been made.
Please note that as result of this postponement the provisions of clause 9.3 of the Programme License Agreement shall apply.
The Miss World Organisation is working with the Puerto Rican government to re-stage the event as soon as is safe and practicable. I will contact you again as soon as I can provide more information. I am attaching the press release as drafted by the Miss World Organisation.
With best wishes,
