Nigeria Still Losing 400,000 Barrels of Oil Daily-Ribadu

The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has disclosed that Nigeria is still losing about 400,000 barrels of crude oil daily to local and international thieves despite efforts to end the menace.

Ribadu made this statement on Saturday while leading a presidential team to examine the oil and gas installations in the Abia counties of Owaza and Rivers’ Etche Local Government Area.

This is considering the Federal Government’s declaration that it is determined to stop pipeline theft and destruction in the oil-rich Niger Delta region.

According to Ribadu, the nation’s economy has suffered because of pipeline vandalism and oil theft, which are also partly to blame for the country’s rising cost of living.
