Fomer deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Doctor Obadiah Mailafia has approached the High Court of Justice Plateau State to declare his latest invitation by the Nigeria Police as unconstitutional, unlawful, illegal, ultra vires with no legal effect whatsoever.

Yakubu Bawa, counsel to the Former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, said Doctor Mailafia was invited to appear at the force headquarters Abuja on Monday but is insisting that such invitation is strange and alien to Nigeria’s extant laws and procedures.

Doctor Mailafia is equally seeking the leave of the Court to restrain the Nigeria Police Force from inviting or requesting him to appear before the DIG Force Investigation Department Police Headquarters, Abuja since the DSS had assumed investigation in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

The former Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2019 general elections, got two invitations by the Department of state service over an interview he grated for a local FM radio station in Lagos
