Ex-Gov of Bayelsa, Dickson emerges PDP senatorial candidate

Former Governor of Bayelsa State,  Henry Seriake Dickson has emerged as the People’s Democratic Party, PDP candidate for the Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-election after becoming the sole candidate of the party for the district.

Also, the immediate past state chairman of the people’s Democratic Party, Hon. Moses Cleopas has clinched the PDP ticket for the Bayelsa Central Senatorial elections slated for October 31, 2020

Cleopas emerged winner with a landslide victory of 428 votes to defeat his rival Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei who polled 64 votes.

After being declared winner by the returning officer, Honorable Sunday Katung after the election, Honorable Cleopas attributed his victory to God as he called for the support of other aspirants and the people of the Bayelsa Central District to ensure victory at the forthcoming polls.

Governor Douye Diri whose elevation as governor led to the vacant position described the conduct of the primaries as fair, orderly and transparent.
