Organised labour suspends planned strike action in Rivers

The organized labour has announced the immediate suspension of the planned protest billed for today (Tuesday).

The President of NLC AYUBA WABBA made the announcement after a mid-night meeting with representatives of the Rivers state government at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday.

AYUBA WABBA said some of the agreements include unsealing of the NLC secretariat and payment of worker’s salaries amongst others. He said that the meeting also agreed to set up a tripartite committee to address the welfare of workers in Rivers state.
The head of service RUFUS GODWIN and secretary to the Rivers state government TAMMY DANAGOGO also addressed journalists at the end of the meeting.
