Electricity: Niger, Benin, Togo remit N2.O4bn to Nigeria

International customers – Benin Republic, Togo and Niger Republic, have remitted a total of N2.04BILLION in the first quarter of this year as their outstanding electricity bill to the Market Operator of the sector in Nigeria.

This was disclosed by The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, in its report for the first quarter of 2020.

On the other hand, the commission stated that , special customers, Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd and its environs, did not make any payment in respect of the ZERO POINT TWO-SEVEN BILLION NAIRA (N0.27BN) and ZERO POINT ZERO-FIVE BILLION NAIRA (N0.05BN) invoices issued them by the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc and the M.O respectively, during the period of review.
