Omuo Ekiti People Protest Relocation of College of Education To Ilawe Ekiti

The people of Omuo Ekiti in Ekiti East local government have staged a peaceful protest over alleged relocation of the Federal College of Education meant for Omuo Ekiti to Ilawe Ekiti.

The Bill seeking the establishment of the Federal College of Education Omuo Ekiti, was sponsored by the Senator Representing Ekiti South senatorial district, Biodun Olujimi and was passed by both chambers of the 9th National Assembly.

Addressing the protesters, monarch of Omuo  town Noah Omonigbehin has accused the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti of going behind his community to hijack the institution and called on President Bola Tinubu to come to their aids.

In his reaction the monarch of ilawe Ekiti Ajibade Alabi said  his people made requests in writing and communicated with Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education since 2016 and got an approval.
