Rivers Governorship: Tonye Cole Loses As Tribunal Affirms Fubara’s Victory 

The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the March 18 governorship poll in the state.

A three-member panel, led by Justice Cletus Emifonye affirmed Fubara’s victory after dismissing the petitions filed against the governor by the candidates of the Labour Party, Beatrice Itubo and

The tribunal dismissed the case against governor Fubara on the grounds that the petitioners failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the allegations of electoral malpractices and ineligibility of the governor to contest for the election.
