But before his testimony a five minute 33-second video recording was played in the courtroom showing Insp Idowu Haruna a member of the IGP, IRT, sitting beside Evans cautioning him and taking his statement.
His lawyer Olanrewaju Ajanaku, however, faulted the evidence saying there were some elements of heavy editing.
In his evidence, Evans described himself as a businessman dealing in haulage and ornaments resident at 3, Fred Soyebode Street, Magodo Lagos.
The alleged Kingpin stated that the investigator, Haruna brought and asked him to sign about 25 sheets of paper which he was scared of doing because he was afraid of the consequences.
According to him, one of the members of the team, Mr. Phillip put his hand in his pocket and brought out a brown hospital card, threatening him to sign or face dire consequences.
Evans said he was subjected to physical and emotional torture just so he does their bidding.
“At the backyard, I saw some people that I was paraded with, wearing leg chains, some of them had bullet wounds on their legs and Mr. Phillip ordered Haruna to bring a big brown cellotape, handkerchief and polybags which they used to show me how they can “make someone travel” – in other words die.” He revealed.
Evans said after witnessing the execution of some suspects, he reluctantly signed the papers under duress.
