Music sensation, Tiwa Savage has exited Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records after seven years and has signed a new deal with, an American global music corporation, Universal Music Group.
The 39-year-old mother of one, whose real name is Tiwatope Savage is an A-listed female artiste in Nigeria since joined Mavin in 2012. She has released award-winning songs that featured the likes of Wizkid, Don Jazzy and Rudeboy, Patoranking and others.
Her achievements include an MTV Europe Music Award, MTV Africa Music Award, one Channel O Music Video Award, one Nigeria Music Video Award, two The Headies Awards, and two City People Entertainment Awards.
In 2018, Tiwa Savage made history by being the first female artiste to be awarded Best African Act at the MTV European Music Awards. In the same year, she became the first African female act to sell out London’s Indig02 and in December 2018, Tiwa was picked by Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin to perform alongside Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Jay Z live at the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg in celebration of the centenary of Nelson Mandela’s birth.
She describes this move as a “new era” for her and her music career.
