WE RECORDED 1,000 PRE-ELECTION LITIGATIONS ON 2023 POLL- INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission claims that in the lead-up to the general election in 2023, it has been faced with more than 1,000 pre-election lawsuits.
INEC Director, Legal Drafting and Clearance, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, said this during a presentation at a two-day workshop on building capacity for journalists in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
According to Babalola, political parties’ primaries, the substitution of candidates, and their refusal to uphold their party constitutions and schedules for conducting elections were the causes of the pre-election lawsuits.
