NAF Airstrikes Hit Illegal Refineries In Rivers, Militants’ Camps In Cross River state

Airstrikes conducted by the air component of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) have successfully destroyed three illegal refining sites in Rivers State and three militant/pirate camps in Cross River State.

According to Air Cdre Edward Gabkwet, director of public relations and information, the airstrikes were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to contain the activities of terrorists, militants, and other criminal elements determined to destabilise the country and make life difficult for Nigerians who value peace.

He claimed that on August 27, the air component of OPDS conducted air interdiction flights on various illegal refining sites situated at Cawthorne Channels, Bille, and Gogokori in Rivers State’s Degema local government area.

According to him, in Gogokori, a Cotonou boat that was seen leaving port while loaded with illicit refined goods was also engaged and sunk.
