Breaking: Fire Guts Sopurum Hotel in Onitsha
The Sopurum Hotel in the Nkwelle neighbourhood of the commercial metropolis of Onitsha, Anambra State, was razed by fire, destroying a sizable portion of the building.
Although the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained, it was learned that it began on Monday at about 4:30 a.m.
At the time of filing this report, firefighters from the state and Delta state had already arrived at the scene to put out the fire.
According to the police public relation officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the situation is under control.
