Isese Day: Osun Govt Calls For Inter Religious Peace

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged all followers of different religions to coexist peacefully and warned against religious strife and confrontation in the state.

Governor Adeleke sent his Special Adviser on Security, Mr Samuel Ojo, to Iwo town in response to the altercations between the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi Telu 1, and the traditional religion worshippers association during the celebration of the annual Isese Festival.

While at the palace in Oluwo, the Governor’s Security Advisor met with several stakeholders and spoke on the phone with Oluwo, who was out of town at the time.

He also interacted with several traditionalists who had made a commitment to gather at Iwoland to confront the traditional monarch, who had allegedly expelled traditionalists from his area.
