Ministerial Nominees: Keyamo Screened, Apologises To The Senate

FG Public Works Program; Keyamo Apologises to Senate

One of the 48 Ministerial Nominees, Mr Festus Keyamo has apologized to the Nigerian Senate over a matter in 2020 regarding the public works program where the sum of 20 thousand Naira was appropriated to one thousand Nigerians in every local government area of the country.

Mr Keyamo’s Screening was earlier suspended after a point of order raised by Senator Darlington Nwokocha who said Mr Keyamo was invited to explain what happened in terms of the criteria for selecting the beneficiaries and the disbursement of the 52 billion.

He expressed displeasure over Mr Keyamo’s insubordination and comment made at that time that the National Assembly is corrupt and wanted to hijack the process.

After a close door session and consultations which lasted for about 3hrs and 30mins, the Senate resumed plenary to deliberate on the matter shortly after, Mr Keyamo tendered unreserved apology.
