Niger Republic: Pro-Coup Supporters Protest In Niamey

Hundreds of supporters of the Niger coup On Thursday, protested in Niamey, chanting for security assistance from Russia, China, and Turkey.

The protesters, led by Issiaka Hamadou, argued that only security interests them.

Western nations are alarmed by the coup, which spread to Niger and Burkina Faso and threatens weak states in the Gulf of Guinea.

Supporters argue that France has failed to protect them from Islamists, despite Russia being a stronger partner.
