Oil Theft: Army Destroys 233 Illegal Refineries

The Six Division, Nigerian Army, said it destroyed 233 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region while 112 suspects were in 2023.

This is according to the  General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army/Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South-South, Operation Delta Safe, Major General Jamal Abdussalam.

Abdussalam, spoke during the 6 Division Combined West African Social Activities at the 29 Battalion Parade Ground, Port Harcourt Barracks on Saturday.

He also said a total of 72 trucks/vehicles were impounded, while 356 arms and ammunition were recovered.
Abdulssalam said the aims and objectives of the exercise were in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja’s command philosophy.
