Osimhen Apologises To Napoli Coach After Outburst

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly apologised to Napoli head coach Rudi Garcia following his outburst in Sunday’s Serie A game at Bologna which ended 0-0.

Osimhen had the chance to put Napoli ahead from the penalty spot but saw his effort go wide.

He was then taken off for Giovanni Simeone on 86 minutes. A visibly frustrated Osimhen was not pleased with the decision and directed his anger towards Garcia as he made his way to the touchline.

The Super Eagles striker made gestures at Garcia that indicated he thought having two strikers on the pitch would have been beneficial to Napoli in the closing stages of the game.

But reports from Calciomercato.com, via Football Italia, has it that Osimhen apologised in the changing rooms of the Dall’Ara immediately after the full-time whistle. Up next for Osimhen and his Napoli teammates is a home clash with Udinese on Wednesday.

Napoli will hope to avoid going four consecutive matches in the league without a win. Osimhen has not scored in his last four games in all competitions for Napoli.

However, he has scored three goals in the Italian topflight this season.
