SERAP Says It’ll Sue Akpabio Over Holiday Allowance

SERAP To Sue Akpabio Over Holiday Allowances

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has announced that it will sue Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the payment of holiday allowances to senators by the Clerk of the National Assembly.

This action comes amid economic difficulties for nearly 70% of Nigerians.

Akpabio’s announcement sparked criticism and inquiries about the reliability and timing of money transfers, arguing that these concessions appear unfair and uncaring.

The petitioners and the precise charges in the case have not yet been made public. However, given the current economic context and mounting tension, the move represents increased scrutiny of the administration of public funds.
