Two Persons drown in Ogun River

Two persons believed to be churchgoers, Femi Akinola and Tunde Falade have drowned on Monday after going swimming in a river.

The two people who travelled from Lagos to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Onikoko via the Itori neighbourhood of the state were confirmed dead at the Ifo General Hospital, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer for the Ogun State Police.

Odutola added that the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olayemi Jacob, detailed his team to visit the scene upon receipt of the report, and the DPO ascertained that there were no marks of violence or foul play suspected.
