Falana urges Federal Govt To Prosecute Emefiele, CBN Management
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has requested that the federal government bring charges against suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele and the CBN management for the early-year cash shortage in the country.
Falana claimed in a statement released yesterday that Emefiele and the CBN had misled Nigerians about the cash availability following the redesign of the country’s currency.
Falana also wants the CBN to compensate the relatives of those killed because of public incitement and to replace the bank buildings that were destroyed by enraged customers following the cash crunch brought on by the redesign strategy.
