120 Elite Runners for Abuja Marathon

About 50 foreign elite runners and 120 local elites have registered to participate in the maiden Abuja International Marathon scheduled to hold April 29.

Thousands of Nigerian runners, who have registered to participate in the three categories, will be joined by the 170 elite runners.

Race director Olukayode Thomas urged Abuja residents to cheer the runners as done globally.

The race, which starts at City Gate and ends at the Car Park behind the Eagle Square, is in three categories: the full marathon, 10km race and the 5km for students.

The lead-up activities for the marathon will begin Friday, April 21 with an Expo at The Pavilion beside the International Conference Centre.
